Team Formation & Tryouts:
How are teams formed?
-
Teams will largely remain consistent in the fall from the spring season where situations allow. There will be situations that do not allow teams to remain the same in the fall than the spring; therefore adjustments to rosters will need to be made. A few of these are situations we predict but are not limited to include:
-
2015s moving from U10 to U11 (7v7 to 9v9)
-
2013s moving from U12 to U13 (9v9 to 11v11)
-
2011s integrating with 2012s (“trapped” 8th graders)
-
Unsustainable roster size for a team/age group based on registrations (too few for a team, or too many for one team)
-
Are there tryouts?
-
No, we will not hold formal tryouts in the fall season. With Strikers FC tryouts being held in November, we do not think it is logistically or emotionally appropriate for all players and staff to hold two tryout sessions in this short span of time.
What if my player did not participate in the spring season? Can he/she still play?
-
Yes, all players who register for the Strikers FC Fall Competitive Program will be placed on a team for the fall season. Even if your player did not participate in the spring season, that player will be placed. All players for the fall season will be placed and no players will be turned away. Our staff will ensure that every player has a place to play within Strikers FC.
How are players placed on teams?
-
The coaches and technical staff (Technical Director) will make placements based on our club’s tryout makeup policy. See the Tryout & Evaluation Process HERE.
-
If there are a small number of players who need placement for the fall season, these players will follow the individual make-up policy. If there is a significant change in the roster, in that a team cannot stay intact from the spring, or if there is a significant influx of players that affect the continuation of the spring team, we may run a tryout for the entire group. In this instance, players from the spring season could be shifted to and from a new “team” for the fall season.
Training Structure & Integration:
2015 teams train 2x a week as a team
2014-2011 teams train 3x a week
Coaches can choose to mix teams on occasion throughout the season; however, training sessions will largely be run as an individual team, as long as there is appropriate attendance to run an effective session.

THE DETAILS
While making team selections, our coaches and evaluators have deliberated with great care. We take much into account when making decisions on placements for each player.
First, we always keep Strikers FCs' Purpose and Core Values at the heart of all decisions. Purpose: To Foster Personal Growth through Soccer.
Our Core values: P.R.I.D.E. | One Club, One Family | (Prioritize the People, Be positively Relentless, Strive for Inclusivity, Prioritize Development, and expect and demand Excellence).
All of these values have to be balanced among all athletes, especially within the context of each age group. We do not take these decisions lightly and understand the impact selections have on players. It is our hope that as parents you can help facilitate productive conversations with your children about their selection as opportunities for personal growth. Our coaches look forward to helping each of our players develop as people and soccer players this season.
