BITTERROOT
COMPETITIVE

Bitterroot Spring 2026 Competitive Program Overview
Playing in Bitterroot Strikers FC’s Competitive Program requires a significant time and travel commitment. All teams begin training in January, practicing at least one time per week indoors.
Starting in late March, training increases to three times per week as teams prepare for MYSA League play, although our youngest age groups (U9 & U10) only train twice a week.
Families can expect games nearly every weekend during the spring season (usually 6-8 weekends of play with tournaments and league games) — typically two matches per Saturday in cities across Montana. In addition, teams will participate in 3 weekend tournaments throughout the spring season.
This year's league may start at the end of March running through mid-June, we will work around Spring Break. League games are played in Hamilton, Missoula, Stevensville, Helena, Kalispell, Polson, and other towns throughout Montana. Please note that league schedules are managed by the Montana Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), so while we can make requests, we do not have full control over locations or match times.
A more detailed schedule, including training time commitment, tournaments, travel expectations, coaching assignments and team fees will be provided to each team before players are asked to accept their team placement. Game schedules typically do not come out until the beginning of March.

PURPOSE AND CORE VALUES

While making team selections, our coaches and evaluators have deliberated with great care. We take much into account when making decisions on placements for each player.
First, we always keep Strikers FCs' Purpose and Core Values at the heart of all decisions. Purpose: To Foster Personal Growth through Soccer.
Our Core values: P.R.I.D.E. | One Club, One Family | (Prioritize the People, Be positively Relentless, Strive for Inclusivity, Prioritize Development, and expect and demand Excellence).
All of these values have to be balanced among all athletes, especially within the context of each age group. We do not take these decisions lightly and understand the impact selections have on players. It is our hope that as parents you can help facilitate productive conversations with your children about their selection as opportunities for personal growth. Our coaches look forward to helping each of our players develop as people and soccer players this season.
